Hello! I am currently a beginning student studying mandarin at ICLP here in Taipei. At home in New Mexico i just finished my first semester of masters study in water resources. I am 25 years old. I chose borderless house due to the multinational roommate structure and the opportunities to do activities with my roommates and future friends from other borderless houses here in Taipei. I’m looking forward to learning and sharing a lot of experiences with my housemates. I used to be an athlete and am hoping to regain my form while in taiwan, so one of my hobbies will be exercise! Swimming, walking, biking, eventually maybe running? However i’m in very bad shape now, so if we end up exercising together please feel free to leave me in the dust. I also like to read, watch movies, play music, listen to music, and eat yummy food. A goal of mine is to learn how cook healthy meals for myself while here in Taipei, maybe we can cook together! I also love going out and exploring with friends. My dream is to be good enough in mandarin to use it in my work, to be healthy and happy both mentally and physically, to be able to enjoy time with my friends and colleagues, and to be able to enjoy each day for what it brings. I can be very talkative and love conversation and listening to people’s stories but can get nervous in new social settings so please don’t be afraid to tell me i’m talking too much or too little. I try to be as considerate and respectful of my roommates as possible so please let me know if anything is bothering you right away, and i’ll try my best to correct it. I can also get quite nervous and anxious when learning a new system so please be patient with me if i ask a lot of questions about unfamiliar processes or requirements. I am here in Taiwan to study mandarin, explore taiwan, learn about taiwanese life and culture, meet new friends, and enjoy every day. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
