TENANT REVIEW

I was impressed by how much the community here really came together to welcome and make every individual member feel appreciated. It did drive home to me just how much work it is to get along with all your fellow housemates and keep them happy.

I’ve made so many new friends that almost felt like family to me! We’ve been on ski trips, picnics, firework festivals, cooking events, and so many other places together. I’ve made some incredible memories here and I will always think of this house as home going forward!

ハウスメイトと泊まりでスキー、スノーボードに行ったのが一番の思い出です。この一年を通して、ハウスメイトであり友人であり、家族と呼べる大切な人たちがたくさんできたました。英語が話せるようになることがゴールなのではなく、あくまでも英語はコミュニケーションを取るためのツールであるということを改めて感じることができました。また、今まで抱いていた固定概念や、自分がずっと悩んだり気にしていたことが、世界の友達から見ればちっぽけなことで、そんなことを気にせず生きていいんだと思えるようになりました。

新小岩に住むだけでTOEICのスコアが約200点アップしました。それだけ、英語に触れる環境があります。積極的にパーティーや集まりなどが開かれ、家族のように仲良くできます。朝まで飲み明かしたり、クラブに行ったり、旅行に行ったり、何気なく集まるご飯など全部が思い出で、最高のハウスでした。

I am the kind of person who prefers to live alone and have my own space. For that reason, I had never lived with housemates for very long and if possible I would have avoided it this time as well. However it was too complicated and expensive to find an apartment on my own when coming to Japan for 1 year so I resigned myself to have housemates. I was a fairly anxious about getting along with the other residents. I am VERY HAPPY I had to make this decision! I got to meet some wonderful people, make some great memories and build some great friendships with people from all over the world! It also allowed me to experience a lot of things I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. 新小岩ハウス最高！
